  • Hadley Mountain A 3.4-mile round trip with one of the best fire tower views in the southern Adirondacks. Worth the short drive north.
  • Tongue Mountain A challenging ridge hike along Lake George with stunning water views. Timber rattlesnakes are present — stay on trail.
  • Buck Mountain A 6.6-mile round trip above Lake George with a rewarding summit view in every direction. One of the most popular hikes in the southern Adirondacks.

  • Sacandaga Lake A large reservoir about 45 minutes west — popular for boating, fishing, and water sports with a more laid-back feel than Lake George.
